I’m often asked when talking about natural skin care and organic skin care products, whether there are any quick fixes for keeping our skin looking and feeling great.
I’m not so sure these are “quick” fixes but they are my top 5 tips for keeping your skin in tip top condition...
I’m not so sure these are “quick” fixes but they are my top 5 tips for keeping your skin in tip top condition...
1. Cleanse, cleanse and cleanse again
Cleansing is one of the most important elements of a good skin care routine – but is something that we tend to overlook. Sometimes we rush this essential skin care routine step – and focus on moisturizing. In fact, good cleansing with a natural cleanser is key to good skin and we should thoroughly cleanse our skin twice a day – once in the morning and again at night; and never, ever go to bed with your make-up!
Cleansing removes dirt, debris, make up and all the impurities from the day. It leaves our skin ready and prepared to receive products that keep our skin hydrated and in good condition. If we apply natural and organic skin care products onto skin that is dirty, we are not giving the products the chance to really work and be effective.
When our skin is dehydrated it can feel parched, tight and sometimes flaky and it lacks that radiant, plump glow that hydrated skin has. It’s important that we hydrate our skin internally as well as externally.
Good skincare involves protecting your skin against the damage done by the environment, pollution, our diet and our lifestyles. A large number of environmental factors can really damage our skin – leading to skin inflammations and signs of premature ageing.
The phrase “beauty sleep” isn’t a myth – it’s a fact. Having a good, peaceful, uninterrupted 8 hours sleep isn’t just good for the soul – it’s good for your inner natural beauty. A good night’s sleep really helps keep our skin looking and feeling radiant, glowing and healthy.
This last time is less about skin care and more about lifestyle. We all know that when we feel good, we tend to look good. A smile is contagious – the more we smile at other people, the more they will smile back. When we feel happy, we look happy. And when we’re happy, we’re radiant!
