Pumpkins Are For Life, Not Just Halloween

As the witching hour comes and goes for another year, it is true to say that we associate Pumpkins with all things Halloween.

But did you know that the seeds are also an important raw material for our skin - and this wonderful oil is often found in some of the best anti-ageing organic skincare products?

At this time of year, there is nothing better than buying a pumpkin (or growing one) and carving out their hard and knobbly skin, to make bewitchingly spooky faces. The orange flesh makes a lovely warming Halloween soup or sweet pie; the seeds are also a tasty and healthy snack. But many of the best organic skin care products also contain organic Pumpkin Seed Oil, as it is especially beneficial for dry skins, mature skin, damaged skin and skin that is losing its elasticity.

Pumpkin Seed Oil, which can be found in many natural face oils on the market, is rich in vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, Beta-Carotene, Vitamin B, Potassium, Magnesium and of significant interest, it is also high in Zinc. It is rich in essential fatty acids – omegas 3, 6 and 9 and so its benefits in organic skincare are numerous. These essential fatty acids help keep our skin soft, supple and can help improve elasticity. They can also help repair damaged skin and have regenerating properties.

Due to Pumpkin’s high level of zinc, the oil has a lifting effect and can really improve your skin’s elasticity especially when it is combined with Mullein – another of nature’s wrinkle warriors.  Mullein can help hydrated our skin and has good moisturising properties and above all, it contains high levels of elastin so when both these raw materials are used together, they can really help improve our skin’s elasticity.

This is why I use this bewitchingly beautiful combination of raw materials in my natural anti-ageing serum, 'A Little Lift' - as well as in one of my natural night balms, 'Rest & Regenerate'.

So be sure to include in your skincare routine this Halloween products that are rich in Pumpkin Seed Oil.  And remember, Pumpkins are for life, not just for Halloween… make them part of your daily natural and organic skincare routine forever.
