How To Look After Your Skin on Holiday

Off on holiday, visiting friends or glamping at your local festival? It’s likely that your natural skincare routine is the last thing on your mind.

Here are my top 3 tips for making sure you come back from your trip with skin that is radiant, healthy and glowing…

Holidays, hot weather, camp site living and generally stepping away from our normal routines can upset your skin. My 3 top tips for maintaining your natural skincare routine are...

Cleansing is Key…
… and it is my number one top tip for keeping your skin clear and in great condition – no matter what time of year it is or where you happen to be. But cleansing is often overlooked when we are out of our normal routine but a few minutes to remove the day’s dirt & grime plus your make-up – can make the difference between grim skin and great skin! Do not skimp on this – and by that I mean don’t resort to a quick once over with a cleansing wipe. No... if you don’t want to take your normal cleansing balm then be sure to pack a rinse of face wash – ideally one that doesn’t contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate as this can strip your skin and also irritate it. Many good natural face washes come in handy travel sizes too so they take up less room in your case.

Two In One…
An organic toner containing a blend of organic floral waters is just the thing to pack in your bag. Not only can you use it after cleansing, but you can also pop it in your beach bag and spray it over your face if you’re feeling hot and bothered or downright dehydrated. Look for natural toners that contains natural ingredients like organic Rose, Neroli & Geranium waters as these will both not just keep your skin hydrated; they will also refresh, calm and balance your skin. If you are going on a long haul flight keep your toner in your hand luggage so you can spritz in-flight.

Add moisture…
A good skincare routine may involve using specialist serums, face oils and moisturisers. If you don’t have room for all three, then opt for a hydrating daily moisturiser and take sample sizes of your favourite natural serums and organic face oils. You should find many natural skincare ranges sell essential travel packs containing a natural cleanser, toner & moisturiser.

If you buy an essential travel pack from Angela Langford Skincare, you can also request free skincare samples sizes which should last you up to a week!
